The following documents must be submitted to the Ministry of Health, in order to receive permission to take the Israeli Medical Licensing Exam. Staj placement is determined by lottery. For more information and updates, see the Ministry of Health website.<\/p>

Photocopy of an Israeli identity Card<\/span>
If you\u2019re already an Israeli citizen and have an Israeli national ID card, please attach a photocopy of the card, as well as a photocopy of the card\u2019s paper addendum. If you\u2019re an Israeli citizen and DO NOT have an Israeli national ID card, please include a photocopy of your Israeli passport. If you are applying pre-Aliyah, please submit a photocopy of your foreign passport.*<\/p><\/div>

Official confirmation of start and end date of studies<\/span>
Often, this information appears on your transcript. If not, you can request a letter from your medical school indicating your start and end date.<\/p><\/div>

From a recognized university (or certification from a university regarding completion of studies, completion of all requirements for the university, and entitlement to a degree in medicine to be awarded on a certain date).<\/p><\/div>

Applying to Israel is akin to applying for a job \u2013 and equally as competitive. You\u2019ll apply directly to the hospital that you\u2019re interested in doing residency at, and be in contact with them throughout the process. Residency Salary Expectations<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

All residents in Israel have a standardized salary set by the Israeli government. However, there is a Ministry of Aliyah subsidy that may be available for the first two years of Hitmachut (specialization). The subsidy can consist of up to 50% of your salary paid to the hospital during this period. Note: This subsidy is dependent on the availability of government funding.<\/p>\n
