In order to practice medicine in Israel, you are required to hold a license issued by the Division of Medical Professions of The Ministry of Health. We recommend that Olim begin the licensing process 1-2 years prior to Aliyah. Please note that you can do the process post-Aliyah as well. Medical Licensing Process for those with MD or DO Diplomas from: US, Canada, the UK, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and France.<\/strong><\/p>

Someone who has completed their studies at a recognized medical school in one of the above mentioned countries and did one year of internship or clinical work (the length depends on your specialty) will likely be eligible to obtain an Israeli medical license. If you completed your license elsewhere, the process will be similar but may require more documents. If you\u2019re already an Israeli citizen and have an Israeli national ID card , please attach a photocopy of the card,
as well as a photocopy of the card\u2019s paper addendum. If you\u2019re an Israeli citizen and DO NOT have an Israeli
national ID card, please include a photocopy of your Israeli passport. If you are applying pre-Aliyah, please submit
a photocopy of your foreign passport.<\/p><\/div>

Medical Licensing Questionnaire<\/span>
This is an online application form<\/a>. Once you\u2019ve completed the form, it will automatically download onto your computer. If
you\u2019re physically submitting your documents, please print the form out. If you\u2019re submitting your documents
electronically, please save the file and make sure to include it in your online document submission. Important: Make
sure to have your legal name written in English AND in its Hebrew transliteration (DO NOT use your Hebrew name). In
addition, you must provide an ISRAELI address and cell phone number (can be a phone number of friends\/family). Your
file will NOT be opened without this information.<\/p><\/div>

Please Note:
<\/b>Some of the documents listed above are only valid for one year from their issuing date. If you have not submitted your Teudat Zehut (ID) within a year from opening your file with the Misrad Habriut, you may be required to present valid, re-issued documents in order to request your temporary license.<\/p>

Do not send original certificates. Send copies and retain original documents, as the Ministry of Health will not return or duplicate them.<\/p>

Double-check that you\u2019ve provided accurate contact details. Incorrect information will delay processing.<\/p>

Verification Of Documents<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

For the documents that require verification, you have 3 verification options:<\/p>

  1. Have a notarized copy of the document (notarized by a local notary-public) AND have that copy apostilled. Please be in contact if you need help or further clarification.<\/li>
  2. Bring it to an ISRAELI notary for authentication.<\/li>
  3. Set a consular services appointment at your local Israeli consulate and request that they issue a verified copy (\u05d0\u05d9\u05de\u05d5\u05ea \u05d4\u05e2\u05ea\u05e7, Imut He\u2019etek) of the document.<\/li><\/ol>

    Keep your original documents. Submit only verified COPIES. In addition to uploading your documents to the portal, you also need to either physically bring your documents to the Ministry of Health or send them by registered mail to the following address:<\/p>

    You may be eligible for a reimbursement of up to 4000 NIS from The Ministry of Aliyah and Integration Please contact your local Ministry of Aliyah and Integration branch for more information.<\/p>

    Please note the following conditions:<\/p>

    • This can be done ONLY AFTER completing your Aliyah.<\/li>
    • The reimbursement is only retroactive for 2 years prior to your date of Aliyah.<\/li>
    • Only Olim who have not yet reached retirement age are eligible.<\/li>
    • Reimbursement is only available if you did you verification through the consulate or an Israeli notary. Non-Israeli notary publics or Apostille fees are not eligible for reimbursement.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      Receiving Your License<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      • Your permanent license will be issued after you\u2019ve officially completed your Aliyah, and it will be sent to the Israeli address you provided.<\/li>
      • Payment will be requested via an online payment service. You\u2019ll receive an SMS to the Israeli number you provided with the relevant link.<\/li>
      • If you need to update your Israeli number or address, please let us know and we will pass the information forward.<\/li><\/ul>
